Dr. Dharmawan Ardi Purnama adalah seorang psikiater dengan pendekatan integratif yang menggabungkan psikiatri biologis, neuromodulasi, dan psikoterapi eksistensial (logoterapi) dalam praktik klinisnya. Ia dikenal sebagai salah satu pionir dalam pengembangan layanan interventional psychiatry di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada penggunaan teknologi seperti Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), ECT, qEEG brainmapping, dan neurofeedback untuk penanganan gangguan mental berbasis sirkuit otak.
Ia menyelesaikan pendidikan dokter dan spesialis psikiatri di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya dan Universitas Indonesia, serta meraih gelar doktor dalam bidang filsafat dari STF Driyarkara dengan fokus pada pengembangan pendekatan logoterapi melalui kerangka naratif restoratif. Pendekatan ini menjadi landasan dalam praktiknya untuk membantu pasien menemukan makna di tengah penderitaan, sekaligus tetap berbasis pada bukti ilmiah dan neurobiologi.
Dr. Dharmawan memperdalam kompetensinya di bidang neurostimulasi dan psikiatri biologis melalui berbagai pelatihan internasional, termasuk pengalaman klinis di Sawa Hospital, Toyonaka City, Osaka, Jepang, di bawah bimbingan Dr. Yutaka Sawa. Di sana ia mengembangkan keahlian dalam membaca neuroimaging, terapi ECT dengan anestesi, serta penanganan gangguan neurokognitif dan geriatri.
Ia memperoleh sertifikasi dalam Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) dari Behavioral Tech Institute, serta pelatihan ECT dan neurostimulasi dari Singapore College of Psychiatrists pada tahun 2018. Sejak saat itu, ia aktif mengembangkan layanan TMS di Indonesia dan pada tahun 2025 dipercaya sebagai Indonesia Representative untuk Clinical TMS Society (CTMS) Asia.
Sebagai akademisi, Dr. Dharmawan saat ini adalah dosen untuk mata kuliah Psikiatri dan Anti-Aging Medicine di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Krida Wacana (UKRIDA). Ia juga pernah menjabat sebagai Ketua Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI) Cabang Jakarta Utara, serta aktif dalam berbagai kegiatan edukasi publik dan pelatihan profesional di bidang kesehatan mental.
Sebagai pendiri Smart Mind Center, ia mengembangkan model layanan kesehatan mental yang mengintegrasikan pendekatan medis, psikologis, dan teknologi, dengan visi menghadirkan pelayanan yang ilmiah, humanistik, dan transformatif.

Dr. Dharmawan Ardi Purnama is a psychiatrist with an integrative approach that combines biological psychiatry, neuromodulation, and existential psychotherapy (logotherapy) in his clinical practice. He is recognized as a pioneer in the development of interventional psychiatric services in Indonesia, focusing on the use of technologies such as Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), ECT, qEEG brainmapping, and neurofeedback for the treatment of brain circuit-based mental disorders.
He completed his medical and specialist psychiatry education at the Faculty of Medicine, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia and the University of Indonesia, and earned a doctorate in philosophy from STF Driyarkara, focusing on developing a logotherapy approach through a restorative narrative framework. This approach serves as the foundation of his practice, helping patients find meaning in the midst of suffering, while remaining grounded in scientific evidence and neurobiology.
Dr. Dharmawan deepened his competence in neurostimulation and biological psychiatry through various international trainings, including clinical experience at Sawa Hospital, Toyonaka City, Osaka, Japan, under the guidance of Dr. Dr. Yutaka Sawa, who developed expertise in neuroimaging, ECT therapy with anesthesia, and the management of neurocognitive and geriatric disorders, was there.
He earned certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from the Behavioral Tech Institute and training in ECT and neurostimulation from the Singapore College of Psychiatrists in 2018. Since then, he has been actively developing TMS services in Indonesia and was appointed as the Indonesian Representative for the Clinical TMS Society (CTMS) Asia in 2025.
As an academic, Dr. Dharmawan is currently a lecturer in Psychiatry and Anti-Aging Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Krida Wacana University (UKRIDA). He also served as Chairman of the North Jakarta Branch of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) and is active in various public education and professional training activities in the field of mental health.
As the founder of Smart Mind Center, he developed a mental health service model that integrates medical, psychological, and technological approaches, with the vision of providing scientific, humanistic, and transformative services.
